Undergraduate students are encouraged to attend conferences held by professional organizations within their field of study. These conferences an opportunity to meet peers from other colleges and universities, give presentations, and participate in competitions.
Attending and being active at conferences provide graduate students with vital information about current research trends and the future direction of their field. Conferences provide students with an opportunity to network with other individuals in their field of study from other colleges and universities. Students may also enhance their vitae by presenting at conferences. Students may also gain service hours by volunteering during a conference. At certain conferences, teachers may earn CEUs to renew teaching licenses by attending sessions.

Held annually during November
The annual Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering conference is for industry, faculty and, students who are involved in the field of industrial technology. The conference has several student competitions which include the robotics, welding, and the Haig Vahadrian ITIQ competition. All of the students attending the conference participate in these competitions. The faculty collaborate with their counterparts in other higher education establishments and discuss new ways of teaching and share their research.

Nu Phi members of Phi Beta Lambda at Mississippi State University attend state, regional, and national conferences sponsored annually by the state and national organizations. Members also compete in the competitive events program offered at the state and national conventions.

The annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) is the premier meeting for professionals in the field of education research. AERA’s meeting provides one of the largest platforms for the discussion of educational research. The meeting attracts a diverse crowd of faculty, students, and researchers in the field of education from all over the world. The diverse attendees who choose this meeting makes it a great venue to network with scholars from all over the world.

The International Society for Technology in Education’s (ISTE) annual conference provides an assortment of professional development opportunities for teachers, technology coordinators, administrators, and other professionals in education. These opportunities are available through a variety of sessions, workshops, and informal learning environments at the conference. Also, this conference provides attendees with an opportunity to network with teacher educators and other professionals in the field of teacher education.

The Mid-South Educational Research Association (MSERA) hosts an annual meeting for individuals in the mid-south region of the United States who are interested in the enhancement of educational research. The annual meetings are conveniently held in Southern states, which make it an ideal meeting for our graduate students to present research that they have conducted. Also, this is a great meeting to collaborate and network with fellow graduate students who attend institutions in the Southern states.

The annual conference of the Mississippi Educational Computing Association (MECA) provides a platform for teachers, instructional designers, and other education professionals to share innovative ideas for the incorporation of technology in education. Presenters at the MECA conference typically provide practical strategies for using technology in the classroom. The MECA conference also provides an excellent opportunity to network with educators from all over the state of Mississippi.

The annual Mississippi Business Education Association (MBEA) conference gives teachers, students, and industry individuals from the state of Mississippi an opportunity to participate in workshops about the latest academic and technological advances in business education. In addition, attendees have the opportunity to hear speakers present about teaching strategies being used in business education. Attendees of this conference have the chance to meet and network with business educators throughout the state of Mississippi.

The National Business Education Association’s (NEBA) annual convention serves as the largest convention for business educators from across the country. NBEA’s convention offers a variety of educational sessions and workshops that are designed to meet the common goals of business educators. Business educators can attend to this convention to expand their knowledge and learn about new technologies. Also, business educators can network with other business educators nationwide.

The annual convention of the Southern Business Education Association (SBEA) is designed to aid the needs of business educators located in the southern region of the United States. Attendees of the SBEA convention have an opportunity to attend sessions which focus on the current state and needs of business education, and emerging technologies. The SBEA convention provides attendees with an environment for networking with fellow business educators.
